About Pam Caidin
My work has
its beginnings in my childhood home, where I grew up surrounded
by Asian art and furniture. I am drawn to the aesthetics of a Japanese
rock garden, clean lines, pattern and texture, the play of simple
shape upon simple shape, unclutteredness. As a child, I loved picking
up rocks on a beach. Yet, rather than using beach rocks in my work,
I choose to create the sensation that beach rocks evoke; the smoothness,
the irregular perfection, the individuality yet connectedness. |
