Color. Design. Fun. The Garden Path is a new company created to bring these three elements into the garden.

We are a husband and wife team, both avid gardeners, who believe plants and art go hand in hand to make a garden. We lovingly tend and fuss over seven separate gardens at our home.

Winter in Maine, with its bleak palette of gray, white and brown, can get visually tiresome. To create interest and color during the long six months of dormancy, we searched for bright and well-designed objects to place in our garden. We couldn’t find much garden art in the marketplace we liked, so Doug started creating it!

Doug is a goldsmith with over 25 years experience as a designer and metalsmith. He has degrees from Dartmouth College and the Tyler School of Art. Anne founded and ran a non-profit affordable housing agency for 15 years before following her heart to the garden full-time. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

"Our goal is to design and craft beautiful and unique garden art," comments Doug. Anne adds, "Color makes people happy. I love to watch people’s faces light up when they experience our colors!?
