Sally Jones began studying art in her home state of Minnesota and after
obtaining a BA at St. Olaf, she
furthered her skills at Rhode Island School of Design graduating in 1976
with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Before starting her own business, Sally worked as a textile print designer
and colorist for design studios
in New York City and Providence, work that included travelling to India
to oversee the production of her
own designs. In the early 80’s she developed a production facility
in upstate New York focusing on
the design of contemporary textiles and crafts for the accessory and clothing
market.
Along
with winning a variety of awards and grants for her designs, Sally’s
work has been shown in numerous
galleries and featured in several publications including Ornament, Surface
Design, and Smithsonian
magazines. Her exquisite scarves and clothing can be found in stores nationwide
and at various craft shows
across the country.
