Frances
Mackey began her career in Denver, Colorado where she built her
first studio. she was also a founding member of Show of Hands, a cooperative
Denver craft gallery established in 1982. In 1983, Frances moved to
Michigan with her husband and reestablished her studio. There
she participated in local shows and sold to galleries throughout the
country.
In 1990,
they moved to New jersey where Frances again established herself
as a studio potter and teacher.
In 2006, Frances moved back to Denver, Colorado where it all began.
Her style has evolved from thrown and handbuilt stoneware to thrown
porcelain and sculptural pieces.
She has been in many juried and invitational shows throughout the
US and has been a Ceramics instructor in New Jersey and Michigan.
